Information for Prospective Students

Symptometric science is a highly specialized therapeutic science in the field of health services.  The Board of Symptometry and the Grand Council of Symptometric Therapeutics fully accredited American School of Symptometry (ASoS) to train others in this field. Additionally, in 2014, the United States Federal Government granted the school 501(c)3 non-profit status.

The American School of Symptometry admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.

 

PROGRAMS OF THE BOARD-ACCREDITED AMERICAN SCHOOL OF SYMPTOMETRY UNDER 501 (c)(3) OF THE UNITED STATES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

1. Six-month program leads to a certificate in disease prevention and healthy longevity (CDPH)

Eligibility: general interest in disease prevention and in healthy longevity. No entrance examination is required.

2. One-year program leads to a Diploma in Symptometric Assistance

Eligibility: high school diploma or its equivalent. No entrance examination is required.

3. Two-year program leads to an Associate degree in symptometric science

Eligibility: high school diploma or its equivalent. Entrance examination is required.

4. Four-year program in three years (accelerated) leads to a Bachelor’s degree in Symptometric science (BSc)

Eligibility: high school diploma or its equivalent. Entrance examination is required.

5. Four-year program + or including three years of therapeutic research and application + doctoral thesis leading to DSym (Doctor of Symptometry) degree with full honors of research fellow

Eligibility: BSc in symptometric science, naturopathic degree, acupuncture license and degree, chiropractor license and degree, medical degree, homoeopathic degree or any other four-year college degree or higher.

Entrance examination is required. The holder of the BSc in symptometric science will be placed on a fast track so that they qualify for the position of PLS (pre-licensed symptometrist). Only PLS are authorized to open a Symptometry health center while writing their doctoral thesis. Special permission can also be granted to shorten the doctoral student’s research time so that they can write and defend their thesis.

6. Coaching certificate program

Eligibility: Associate degree in symptometric science, Bachelor’s degree in symptometric science or a current ASoS student showing great promise. No entrance examination is required.

7. Teaching Assistant and Lectureship Program

Eligibility: enrolment in the two-year or four-year program of the American School of Symptometry. No entrance examination is required.

8. Symptometry certificate in pregnancy management

Eligibility — midwives and doulas. No entrance examination is required.

ENTRANCE PROCESS
The Board of Symptometry and the Grand Council of Symptometric Therapeutics fully accredited American School of Symptometry to ensure only the best training is available to all future symptometrists, regardless of the program selected.To gain acceptance into the American School of Symptometry, prospective students must: (1) review the school’s PROSPECTUS to to become acquainted with the academic process and career opportunities; (2) study THE DOWNSIDE OF NUTRITION: PART I (second edition, copyright 2012) in preparation for the entrance exam, (3) complete the short scholarship application and (4) pass the rigorous essay-style entrance exam with a score of 70% or better.
